- Tower: St John’s, Surrey Road (8 bells, 16-1-18)
St John’s, Surrey Road is well placed for Bournemouth University. We practice every Tuesday 19:30-21:00.
Welcome, from the bellringers at St. John’s (8 bells, 16-1-18), St. Peter’s (8 bells, 20-2-7) and Sacred Heart (6 bells, 3-2-6), to the world of Bellringing in Bournemouth.
If you are interested in learning to ring in Bournemouth, please contact Tim Kettle (tower captain at St. Peter’s Church) who currently has vacancies for beginners. Once you are a confident bellringer, you will be encouraged to ring for Sunday Services at one or more of the Bournemouth Towers, and you will be warmly welcomed at any of the local practices. Bellringers are a friendly lot and, if you get out and about, it provides a wonderful excuse for a trip into the country on a fine summer’s evening. Bellringing is at heart a purposeful activity, we are here to call local people’s attention to Sunday Services, and from time to time to mark occasions such as weddings (Royal or local).
