Manchester University Guild of Change Ringers

Practice: Tuesday 18:00-20:30

Manchester Universities Guild for Change Ringers (or the MUGs for short!), we’re a society of tower bell ringers who pride ourselves on a fun and welcoming place to socialise and learn.

We welcome any and all abilities of ringing, whether you’ve never heard of bell ringing or you’re an expert peal ringer (no judgement either way!). We have learning slots before a Tuesday evening practice, and the chance to ring with others in the hour and a half following. If you’re interested in having a go, or joining in with the chaos, email us (MUGCR@hotmail.com) or chat to us through our Instagram (@mugs_ringers)

Our main practice evening is held at Sacred Trinity just over the river in Salford, and is approximately 10 minutes away from Piccadilly Gardens and the buses. We start off with handbells for the adventurous at 6pm, a learners only practice at 6:30pm and the main practice starting at 7pm.

We also join with local practices in Manchester as well. The practice in Fallowfield at Holy Innocents on a Monday evening at 8pm; and the Cathedral in the city centre at 7:30pm

We’d love to get to know you, whether you’ve been in Manchester for a while or are just moving to the city. Our practices finish with a trip to the pub, the Kings Arms on a Tuesday, where we can chat bell theory or anything else that is much more interesting!
