Bournemouth

There isn’t a University Society at present but ringing students are welcome to join in with activity in local towers. We currently have several students who attend local practices and service ringing, and we are also teaching some who have expressed an interest in learning. In Bournemouth most of the ringing is at Sacred Heart (RC) 6 bells (3cwt) and St Peter 8 bells (20cwt). Practice night is Monday and alternates between the two churches which are close together in the town centre and well served by transport from areas of student accommodation. Sunday ringing is 9.15am at St Peter’s and 10am at Sacred Heart. We are a friendly group and ringing always ends with the pub or coffee as appropriate!

Alternatives include Bournemouth St John 8 (16cwt) with a practice on Tuesday afternoon 2.00-3.30pm. There are also towers in both Poole and Christchurch with regular ringing.
