Aberystwyth

Practice: Thursday 19:30

Aberystwyth students are welcome to ring with Llanbadarn Fawr, St Padarn (10-bells 18-0-18 in E) on Thursday practices (7.30pm - 9.00pm) and for Sunday service. (Please note we are in Ceredigion and not to be confused with our namesake parish in Powys).

A short walk from the university campus, Llanbadarn Fawr is the ancient settlement, considered important enough for St Padarn’s to be built to mini cathedral sized proportions for Wales, whilst Aberystwyth developed as a harbour for shipping slate and lead in the 18th century.

An active band, on easy going 10 bells (restored in 2001), we cater for all ringing abilities, enjoy dynamic practices and look forward to welcoming students each year and although not a university society, it has many links with the university and includes current students, staff members and alumni. We promote links with Welsh Colleges Society and St Davids Diocesan Guild.

After practice: Usually The Black Lion, literally our next-door neighbours at the east end of the churchyard.
