St Machar’s Cathedral ringing is at the edge of the campus and thus very accessible to students.

We are very welcoming (we think!) to any and all who want to ring at St Machar’s.

Our practice night is Monday from 19:30 – 21:00 and we ring at a level to suit our ringers from learning to handle a bell to surprise major. We also can arrange one to one sessions for learners to have more intensive sessions, to learn the basics more quickly. For the more experienced ringers we have arranged separate sessions for more advanced methods.

We ring for the Sunday morning service, 10:15 – 11:00 and for weddings when requested. We also have the tower open for visitors for special events such as the Aberdeen Doors Open Day in September and for the St Machar’s Family Fundays during school holidays and the University of Aberdeen Christmas Carol Service.
