RW 2852 17/12/1965 P852 BELFRY GOSSIP NORTHERN UNIVERSITIES AT NEWCASTLE Nine universities were represented at the meeting of the Northern Universities in the Newcastle area on November 27th, when the maximum temperature only reached 37 degrees. Ringing covered a wide compass from rounds to Cambridge Royal and Grandsire Cinques. Towers visited were St. Andrew’s, Sutherland (10), St. John’s (8) and the Cathedral (12), Newcastle, All Saints’’, Gosforth (10), Fenham (8) and Chester-le-Street (8). Universities represented: Durham, Hull, Keele, Leeds, Liverpool. Manchester, Newcastle. Nottingham and Sheffield.
