What is Bell Ringing (and the MUGCRs)
The MUGs welcome students at any of the educational institutions in the Manchester area (including the University of Salford) to become full members, but are also greatly involved with other towers and ringers. We are a teaching tower, from learning to handle a bell, right up to how to get 80% of the way through a peal of surprise major before firing it out. All abilities are truly welcome.
The MUGCRs are based at Sacred Trinity and the Salford Arms. During term time we practice ringing between 19:00 & 20:30 and drinking from 20:30 onwards every Tuesday. There are also lots of other opportunities for ringing and drinking at other towers and pubs. We also ring for Sunday Service at Sacred Trinity, and often Manchester Cathedral, Fallowfield, or Didsbury.
